    It is incredible.

You all know this once you see it.

The curves, the sound, the interior. The FOUR God-Damn seats!

And yet... it's a flappy paddle car.

The nerds and the semi-pro track hounds can all tell me its better, better, better until they are blue in the face.

    You know what it is?

    It's boring.

    Boring like an Oldsmobile boring.

Thus the question: Could you swap in a real 6 Speed?

What box would it be, and what would be a rough guestimate on costs?

<I'm serious. I've cut up cars before to get what I want. Resell is hell. But, I don't drive for re-sell.>

try the S version. Similar transmission to the Scud. The gear changes are VASTLY improved. IIRC they are faster than the 599s. you might just want to give it a shot...

It's not the speed of the transmission.

It's the lack of a clutch pedal for my Left foot and a stick shift for my Right hand.

The thrill of the ballet of a well executed shift, and the eye-rolling reminder of mortality that accompanies a poor one.

Since my schedule will only allow 2-4 hours of seat time per week in any car, I want them to be the best 2-4 hours they can be. (before there is the suggestion of buying a Scud - I HAVE to have 3+ seats, 1-3 of the hours are spent with others)

You send me the Gran Turismo, and about 75K, since the car has no room for a tranny, it would have to be redesigned. I'm sure I could figure it out, and my shop guys could build it, though not sure it would look the same when we were done.

I'd guess that the mechanical work would actually be the easy part of that conversion. It will probably involve a scary amount of re-designing cirquits and a lot of re-programming of various ECU's.

Trust me, even at 75k, it would probably be a break even, might even loose money depending upon how many parts it would need.
