That post is from somebody that has no clue. Charging infrastructure does leave a lot to be desired, but it's not as bad as he says.

I have two EV's and live in a rural area. There are several charging stations nearby and they're all free.

Except for Tesla, which has a great charging network, BEV's aren't made for long distance driving, but will fill the needs of most commuters.

The problem is solved by putting a larger charge network in.

The bigger problem is the faux-low-emissions and people that buy them believe they're contributing to a cleaner planet. End of life cycle in an EV and the disposal of such a car are quite wasteful to the environment, to the point that it pretty much cancels each other out.

For a daily commute car I fully understand them and why people like them. However, forcing small manufacturers such as Ferrari and hell, even a portion of the range of Porsche (911), to go full EV in a few years will kill that side of the automotive industry, even though these cars are the lowest contributors to environmental waste over the full life cycle.

If they where serious about cleaning up the planet they'd go after the real industries/countries doing the waste. Easier to go after the tax payer though.

With the push for EV, the environmentalists, woke and virtue signalling crowds are going to lose their minds when the environmental bill for producing all of the raw materials to build all of the cars and associated infrastructure arrives.

It’s one thing to go EV because it makes sense, but believing if everyone does it tomorrow will save the planet is a dream. The 10 to 20 fold increase in production of the input raw materials is a task in itself, when economic resources need to be identified and developed. This is against a backdrop of lower grade ore deposits, falling production, etc.

    Interesting times we live in.

99% of the pro EV lot (purely for environmental reasons) are hypocritical ****s anyways. If they truly cared, they'd use mass transport wherever they could and fold up bicycles for the other parts of their journey.

Like you say, this whole EV push is massively damaging the planet in another way that they simply ignore. So many jobs can be done from home these days and with the majority of people in the west now having proper internet everywhere....what their excuse? Work from home. No need for a car. No need to clog up roads.

If that was achieved, all people pointlessly working from their office building instead from home (those that can, obviously), it would greatly reduce CO2. Also the roads would be far clearer thus far fewer CO2s emitted from cars standing stationairy. It's a win win.

Synthetic fuel is good to go...
