A couple of weeks ago my dino lost its V-belt on the circuit when driving fast and thus a nice cloud of smoke stopped the fun for a couple of hours. The supporting mechanics from the organisation installed a new one and did the bleeding of the coolant. Now when driving it, it doesnt get hot but when at a traffic light still some smoke comes out of the engine compartment and when parked still some coolant is on the floor. The level in the expansion tank is half, the top tube of the coolant (that big one) when cold is not completely filled with coolant (you easily can press it when cold). I checked the connections but they seem to be ok.

Now I did the bleeding of cars quite a few times, but I know there are some tricks with the Dino. I think there is still some air in the system.
Did try a search but no usefull info came up. Any advise is very welcome.

    ciao

The easiest way that I have found is to raise the rear end of the car and open the bleed screw on the top right of the radiator. After the air bleeds out and you have a constant small stream of coolant coming out of the bleed screw tighten it back up, refill the overflow and let the car back down. You may get some coolant that will go out of the overflow tank via the overflow hose until it gets to the right level. Then you are done.

Thanx. But should the big tube be full of coolant?
As the overflow spills the coolant at the floor, the smoke can't come from there.....Well I will check next week all the connections, and thanx for your help!

actually if the overflow tube is not long enough (should drain below the engine) the anti freeze can hit an exhaust pipe and produce a very white cloud of alarming smoke.

I am unclear on what you mean by "top tube" and can think of 3 possible hoses that might qualify.

If you have had an overtemp situation resulting in exhaust discharge plume then I'd change the oil immediately and get an oil sample to a reputable lab for analysis. It is the best $30 USD spent as it can detect many things from coolant leaks to defaced bearing metal to head gasket failure.
