    Hey Gang,

Couple of questions on the Cali T:

    - Wanted to see if anyone knows if the Blind Spot Detection System is standard on the Cali T years 2017+...if not, can it be added thru one of the packages...maybe the the one that includes Homelink? I have a call into the dealer on this as well...but I'm starting to question their knowledge of the details on the Cali T. Finally got price clarification on the HS Pack. Originally was quoted $9700+...now its been re-adjusted to $7227

    - Seats. When ordering our car, we originally chose the standard seats but are now questioning if anyone thinks its worth it to upgrade for the 5K (for Front and Back) to one of the other selections. My wife is between the Backbone and Diamond Stitching options...she doesnt like the look of the Daytona...which actually would be my first choice.

    Thanks.

I definitely advise full electric and ventilated seats. They are a must have for resale if you ask me but also just for daily driving. The bolster and lumbar adjustments are really great and seat memory is good if you have more than one driver as it sounds you will. I would also go with the standard seat, it has the best feel, again, IMO. Homelink is just a mirror and I got it added to my car along with the backup camera. Those are both options that can be added after delivery so I am getting them.

Definitely not on 2015. I don't think its an option on newer version either.

Let's hope these things never fail in an "off" mode. Otherwise an accident waiting to happen. Hope the system fails with a big RED light glowing on the mirror to let the driver know that they are not protected like they may think.

I have a different opinion on the seats.

Not all owners treat the Cali as a luxury cruiser although some people may like extra power options. Given the choice, I would say most Ferraristi would prefer sport seats over seats with any power features. Power seats are bulky and extra motors and actuators add considerable weight. The more luxury comfort options you cram in your Cali, the closer it becomes a Merc AMG, which is not a good thing. It's an Italian "sports car", not a German Autobahn cruiser.

I tested full power (heated) seats in two 2012 cars because I intended to use my car roof down in late Fall but I could not find any lower back setting that was comfortable whereas the standard power seats in the F430 Spiders I tested were immediately comfortable. Memory settings can be useful but I always check and make adjustments every time I get in the car anyway.

My preference was actually for sleek no-power CF sport seats but the dealer did not have any for me to try and seeing it was my first Fcar spec I didn't want to take an unnecessary chance since I already liked the regular power seats.

As for stitching, IMO standard seats make the car look "below par", "no design statement at all". I got the Daytona because it strikes a good balance between more modern and classic designs. Contrast stitching is also important and if wasn't for helpful advice from my dealer's sales manager I would be kicking myself today. Stitched Cavallinos on the headrests are also a good idea, expensive but they really look good.

Our Cali came with contrast diamond stitching and I think it looks awesome! If you're going for a more sporty vibe, then Daytona seats as someone mentioned. Agree also that the ditched cavallino on the headrest is a nice touch. Wish ours had them.

As for seats, our Cali is a GT fun car, and so we use the seat heaters quite regularly to buy us a few extra degrees of top down driving weather. And, as I've said numerous times, living in Texas, sure would be great to have them ventilated as well.

Thanks for the feedback. Yep, I totally agree on all the stitching. If you look at the order we placed in another thread, we loaded it up with about 4K worth of stitching options. We are going with the Backbone Seats as they look more sporty.

    Thanks again...

I'm slightly different, the only seats I go for in Ferrari are the racing seats - the most comfortable seats I've ever used. I'm the one that mostly drives my cars so I don't have the need for constant adjustments. Haven't ever felt the need for ventilated or heated seats either - but that's just me. I use my cars as daily drivers and over fairly long distances so I've come to know my seats well. My one and only Cali (2010) had electric seats - standard I presume - didn't like them at all.
