So I have one of the many stalks that doesn't auto-cancel. Since I've sent off my speedo and tach to get refurbed I need to wait a little on the stalk.

Anyway, I was wondering... is the only noise or tick from the turn signal coming from the relay behind the fuse panel, or is there another sound that lets the driver know they still have their signal on?

On my Mustang the "ding" is created by a rubber diaphragm and a mechanical arm. My "ding" had long gone and I refurbed that with some new rubber and it sounds new.

Wondering if there's a similar system on the 308 that might exist that I could fix that would let me know I've still got my blinker on.

It's to tell blind drivers that their turn signal is on.

I didn't know that some stalks weren't self-cancelling. Are you sure the stalk mechanism isn't broken?

They are all self cancelling, but a common problem is the plastic tabs crack and no longer work.

So yes I'm sure it's broken. But as I wrote in the OP I'm going to have to wait a while before I send the stalk to get fixed.
