I took the car out tonight for a little drive. Got a little chill so turned the heater on. Everything works like normal but no heat actually comes out of the vents. Guage is working, fan is blowing air, and visually everything is normal. The only problem is, no heat. I did a search but found no issue exactly like this.

    Ideas?

I would suspect that there is no water in your heater core. This could be because the heater control valve isn't opening, or because you have a leak in your cooling system, and the level is low, causing an air pocket at the heater core.

Next step: see if the control lever on the heater valve moves through its range when you change the setting on the heater from full hot to full cold. And find out if the hose going into the control valve gets hot when the engine is hot. If you don't get any heat up front, then there is probably an air pocket in the cooling system, and it needs to be properly bled, and leak tested.

Well.....I tinkered with the controls and I got it to work but seems a little odd. If I turn the blower all the way down, then turn the heater all the way up, then turn the blower back up, it kicks in. Then I can adjust the temp and it seems to work just fine. Electrical?

I have a very similar problem, no heat although I have blower - I cannot control where the air comes from (it seemingly comes out of everywhere) and there is no heat or cold, just medium air.

I the A/C pump kicks in and out but still just mid temp air coming out.

If it's anything like the 355 system it could be a bad HVAC ECU. My 99 355 ecu crapped out a few years ago. Hence no signal to the stepper motor to open the valve allowing hot coolant to flow. Just a thought.

Could be a bad control valve since you have to fool with it. Check out www.my348.com. They have an excellent section on the heater valve and how to check it. I had to replace mine a while back.
