I got a PS3 for Christmas and was wondering something about blu ray. Will i be able to play blu ray dvd's through my PS3 onto a regular TV (non flatscreen, non HD)? I'm not asking if it'll be HD or anything, i'm just wondering if it'll display on my 7 year old TV with red/yellow/white audio jacks?

Sorry for the wierd question, i hope you guys understand. The guy at best buy said it would work but i'm not sure.

i believe it will, but just nowhere near the quality you would expect from a bluray, i think you would need to upgrade to an lcd/plasma with hd cables to really get the most out of it.

But it will work? It won't be worse quality than a regular DVD though, right? Basically, i want to start buying all my dvd's in blu ray so that when i do get an HDtv i won't be left with a ton of regular DVD's (yes, i know you can get players that upconvert). But until then, they need to work on my regular tv.

The TV my PS3 is hooked to is at least 15 years old, maybe more. I have no problems watching a BluRay DVD through the PS3.

    Yes, it works.
