Blue Angels Over My College Campus!!!

Holy crap today was awesome! I get off the bus to walk to my research building and I heard a couple jets overhead going back and forth. I kept looking up, but nothing! Then, out of nowhere, I see an F/A-18 Super Hornet Blue Angel doing a fly by over our campus about 300-400 ft above the ground! The engines were facing me after his turn and it was ridiculously loud. (Saturday is the Gainesville Airshow, I figured they were having fun and maybe trying to get people to want to see the show.)

Later on in my research building, I had to go to the top flood (outside) to do some work with alligators (University of Florida of course) and I could see for several miles since FL is pretty flat and I'm 70 feet off the ground. I can see 2 F/A-18s flying around our regional airport about 4 miles away then they turn towards us. They kept making loops over campus so low that it was awesome. Both of them turned and flew directly overhead of me and my co-workers no more than 200 ft above (two time nonetheless!). I could see the pilot's head! They've been going around campus all day and practicing low level high speeds runs over the airport runway.

An amazing day. I want to be fighter pilot

P.S. I just heard them again from my apartment as I'm typing this and I'm 5 miles from campus!

 

I was just sitting in my room doing some work and I heard them again. I looked out my window and I saw 4 in a diamond pattern and one trailing no more than 500 ft above the ground! It was awesome!

 

I took some pics with my cell phone today as they were flying over my apt, but they came out horrible. Four of them were in the diamond pattern going straight up and then did a 180 and came straight down. I saw that from about 3 miles away. Then 5 seconds after that 2 went straight over my head, lol (I tried taking a pic, but a tree got in the way at the very last second!). They did a couple fly-bys in the 4 pattern shape, but that's all I've seen so far. I don't have an actual camera, sucks

P.S. I'll try to e-mail the pics to myself and post they up.

Edit: Here's the pic, came out horrible. This is the one with 4 of the Angels doing a 180 coming straight back down. I won't bother posting the rest because they're much worse (basically a black pixel). I might drive out to the airport tomorrow if I have time (F1 race and NFL sunday so I don't know if I have time).
