I wish it were always like that, Lars. For the 2007 concours, one of the sponsors volunteered to provide the ladies with umbrellas. The judges from HK, Japan, and Thailand clubs were quite impressed (we were too). The ladies were intended to allow the judges to concentrate on their job in spite of the tropical sun, but I think they had the opposite effect! Unfortunately, this year's concours is indoors, so no need for umbrellas, but the club promises to hold the next one at the old seaside venue. Best regards, Andres

Just to supplement data on "4866, here is the back of the belt buckle, taken today for Dinofan and posted elsewhere on this forum.

I took the Dino out for a drive this morning, so she should be entering 2012 with what's on the odometer now - 11,268 miles.

Happy New Year to all. My best wishes for all of you and our Dinos for the next and coming years.

Not the car subject of this thread, but the only other Dino now running in Manila . The photo was taken at today's Manila Sports Car Club breakfast meeting. MSCC meets on the first Sunday of each month in alternating venues. Today's meeting was at a mall, which closes a street so sports cars can park. This yellow Dino just stood out this early morning. Lovely car.

I took the Dino early this morning for a brief run. The roads were dry, but it was still quite cool for Manila. Th Dino sounded so good. I love that Tubi exhaust.

We have had a great deal of rains the last several weeks, and a low-pressure area again threatens. It was good to have been able to drive the Dino. I let the Dino cool before closing the garage door and walked to the house for some breakfast. However, I looked back and saw the rear of the Dino, lit by the morning sun, and just had to take a photo.

A midnight Christmas eve dinner is traditional here, so as a consequence roads are generally empty early morning on Christmas Day. I took advantage of that and took the Dino out for a nice, satisfying drive this morning. I didn't have a camera with me but just had to take a photo of the Dino at the gas station, so used my phone. The background is too busy, so I blurred it out.

It is a really lovely car, the Dino.

My best wishes for the holidays to all,

    Andres

A heavy workload, too many trips, and too few weekends have conspired to keep me from my Dino, which ends 2012 with only 11,296 miles on the odometer. I am hopeful that a lighter schedule next year and a garage with one less car will allow me to enjoy the car more.

In any event, my best wishes to all.

Another magnificent shot, Andres! Your garage is museum quality, as is the engine mounted on its stand. Fred

Thanks, Fred. I cleaned up up the garage beforehand, and, as you know, one can't take a bad photo of the Dino! It is such a lovely car.

Hope all is well. Best regards,

That engine on the stand ... is it a Lotus Twin Cam from the 60's & early 70'S?

Yes, David. It was built by Vegantune (in England) in 1977 for my 1969 Lotus Élan. I installed a new motor in 1998 and have kept that one as a spare.

Nice Noguchi Table and Grand Confort chairs. I have a couple Barcelona chairs and an Eames chair & ottoman, trully love mid century modern and Bauhaus design furniture. Just wish I could afford all the pieces I covet. Beautiful design is timeless in any form. Beautiful Dino you have.

Thanks, dwhite. I like that era, too. The designs are timeless, I agree. When young people visit, they are usually bowled over by how old they are.

    The Barcelonas are beautiful.

Here is a better view of the Lotus twincam motor. The twincam made its debut in Jim Clark’s Lotus 23 at the Nurburgring. He led the field, which included Ferraris, Maseratis, and Porsches, by such a wide margin that spectators thought he had started late and was trailing them. It is an iconic motor, much like our own Dino V6s.

    Best.
