I didn't think these images would be released until the end of this week/next week, nevertheless, Macari posted them, so now I can too. It's not TdF as I initially suspected; it's Porsche's Aqua Blue. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bravo to the F40's owner for doing something different, but surely there are enough historic/heritage Ferrari colors in the palette that would have been better suited? IMHO, iconic Porsche colors such as Aqua Blue, suit iconic Porsches best! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tim, It would be similar to rolling up in the LM to the Goodwood Breakfast Club meet and telling people you painted it Porsche Guards Red and called it a day. Heaven Forbid
fantastic color, I own a porsche 997 GT3 RS with color and I can imagine my red f40 in this funny color, good idea, but for the moment I keep my car rosso corsa......
Whatever the owner is happy with. I personally love the Pozzi F40 much more. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I so want to like it because as Joe S says, it's different, refreshing and challenging. But just the thought of painting mine blue gives me the bloody shakes. Btw, about Macari, I'm purchasing their F50, it's the first time I have dealt with them. Joe M and Louis are tremendous guys (and genuine), the operation including their Ferrari authorised service facilities is deeply impressive too. Much larger and more sophisticated than I imagined.....and some of the cars they're working on, jaw-dropping. Joe M's passion is seriously off the scale! He really cares. Talk about an unfair advantage versus the corporate owned dealer network in every area but new.
The implication from the advert is that the respray is just complete - I know 'the very rich are different from you and me' but it does seem strange to pick so challenging a color immediately prior to resale ?
I've seen it in the flesh and it looks much darker (at first I thought it was black). The Porsche blue looks weird to me, too candy apple like.
I once saw a then new 550 Maranello at Maranello Sales in a very akward interior combination of green, tan etc and a green exterior. The owner ordered it new that way, but decided to trade it in almost immediately for another 550. I bet Maranello Sales wasn't too pleased with that colour combination on their showroom floor! Always wondered why they took it back...
It depends entirely on the light source. A UK-registered car imaged at various times. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What's the story behind this car? Is it repaint or wrap? If it's repaint, why? Because of crash or previous owner just didn't like red?
I initially felt the same way... but on second thought, since all of them started out as red, there's not much heritage to the other Ferrari colors.... at least not F40 heritage
