Got this model this week. Overall a very good model for a much lower price point than its BBR cousin. I've seen the Blue Moon and BBR versions side by side and they are exactly the same. The only difference is that the BBR version comes with a clear display case and the base is leather covered.

On the plus side are the overall quality (excellent paint, fine but surprisingly sturdy details, very nice wheels) and the stance and overall shape is captured very well.

Some minor gripes: the race decals are very thin and the paint shines through. Allthough they look great in pictures, the seats and toneau cover are too fake. The seats have a hard plastic look and the cover floats a bit. The gear lever belongs in a Bburago from 1984.

I also noticed that the two lights in the grill have different sizes. I couldn't find pictures to confirm if this is period correct.

Overall it's worth the money and if you only care about the model itself, you could save yourself a lot of money and go for the Blue Moon version instead of BBR.

One last thing: the bottom of the base is covered with velvet that covers the screws. You can't take the model from the base without damaging the velvet.

I have one too, very happy with it, it's my second blue moon after the 340mm panamericana.....i also notoced the diferent size in the headlamps....i guess must be correct, no sense to make such a mistake...worst think as you said, it was the decals being to thin.....all in all, they are a bargain compared to the bbr....

I've also got this one - came the same week as my BBR FXX K... nice model - I have the same complaint about the decals. I did some digging in photos online when I noticed the fog lights and believe that the different fog light sizes is accurate/correct.

That's the current version of the same painting by Nick Watts (Through the Rain), but notice a difference? Nick went back in and moved the Porsche 718 RSK of Frère/Barth forward so that it's in between the two TRs. He has also added "cut signatures" of Phil Hill to each of these later versions, as Phil was no longer around to sign them.

I purchased my giclee from Nick during the original run, so the Porsche was behind 0736TR of Bianchi/de Changy (yellow/black #21), but Phil was still alive and had actually signed the print. Personally, I prefer my earlier version with the clear view of 0736TR. :)

I had not noticed the addition of the Porsche when I posted it. I have the earlier one as well with a PH sig. I was a big Nicholas Watts fan when I was younger.
