I can't believe that my 2015 458 Spider doesn't stream bluethooth out of the box. What's the best Bluethooth -> ipod connector available in the US? I bought one already but that specific model doesn't work...

    Thanks

My Speiciale works just fine..That said, I can confidently say I've never listened to music in the car.. the engine is the prime music source.

The only one people have identified on here is (I think) no longer made.

Agree with Jasone in my Speciale re the sound of music from the rear but I asked the same question a few months back for my bluetoothing. Not sure if Italia is same as the 'quality' <cough cough> system in the Speciale but this is how you do it in my car.

Assuming you've paired you phone already?
I hit 'Main' > 'Media' to the right and it just starts playing!

    Hope that helps!

You must have figured this out during your last service? :)

I'm all seriousness, my Speciale does connect via Bluetooth for "music" and Phone" which was unlike my 458. This actually causes an issue you may have saw in a previous thread. The radio doesn't shut off in the car if you are connected and playing music. It took me ~8 hours of having the battery charger plugged in before I figured out I needed to disconnect BT to get the radio to turn off, even with the keys out.

Depending on which USB I have it plugged in to, it also acts like an iPOD at time as soon as I plug my phone in.

It only works on a Speciale! I've been trying to get my Spider to play via Bluetooth but the dealer confirmed my it. I guess that's why they call it Speciale. Spend extra $100k to get the Bluetooth feature.

Only works in Speciale, not sure why might have something to do with tracking the car and connection of laptop or phone for stats.

    +1

I know what you mean about it keeps playing in the Speciale even when you take the key out. But, it does shut down when you walk away and lock the car.

Yeah the phone pairing works great but the system won't let me select BT as an input for music. I usually drive the car with the rear window down to listen to the furry being my head but from time to time, a little music or news would be great...

If anyone knows of an ipod/bt-audio adapter that works with the 458, please let me know.

Ferrari, if you read this (yeah low probability), why don't you distribute a software update to enable BT audio? We are no longer in the 90s. These things should just work. This is ridiculous and exposes how low tech your brand really is. Not to mention that my previous car, a 2014 California works with BT audio perfectly! But I guess you outsourced some cheap parts for that one...

You expect Bluetooth streaming audio, which you can typically find in most sub $20k cars as standard, to work on a $350,000 high line automobile like a 458? :)

I agree with you. Ferrari is quite frustrating in all their technology. I say you either do it really good or don't bother doing it at all. Sure, the car itself is amazing, but all the infotainment systems are horrible. I'd rather they leave it all off and knock 100k off the car (since that is what they would probably charge for it if it was an option, right?). The usability and interface for the radio/nav/media/etc on the 458 are all incredibly poor. If I was CEO at Ferrari I would fire whoever designed it and whoever approved it to go in the car. I would not want these people screwing up future cars.

I guess in the future they are going to lean heavily on Apple Car Play and possibly Android Auto. Both would be orders of magnitude better than the current Ferrari joke of a system. I go from my incredibly high tech, cutting edge, well designed M5 and X5 infotainment systems to my 458 and it is incredible the contrast in just how good BMW is at the tech and how lousy Ferrari is at it.

I bought one of these WMA-Series - Products | Viseeostore but the connectivity is a pain in the butt because it doesn't stay connected. But when it works its great. I'm not sure if they still sell the model compatible with our Ipod connector so please contact the company
