got a new phone so i'm trying to sync it with my bluetooth ear piece. it keeps searching but can't "find" it. i didn't have any problems sync'ing the earpiece up with my previous phone (which was the exact same motorola v710) so not sure what happened. have tried turning both units off and on, etc. i also tried to sync it with my blackberry and it won't sync to that either. checked the manuals and i think i'm doing everything correctly. any suggestions? TIA.

I have Bluetooth in my M5 which allows me to use my Razor phone handsfree through the stereo system and its great. . Why would you want an earpiece though? Everytime I see someone walking around with one of those earpieces, I think they look like a moron...

Whatever floats your boat...if you want to look like a customer service rep for Walmart with your little earpiece...have at it... IMHO you would be much better off to buy a Bluetooth hands free kit for each of your cars...it will work just as good or better and you won't look like such a nerd with a funky earpiece!

Here's your answer (which your not gonna like). I am assuming the V710 is through Verizon Wireless. If it is, it will not work...Verizon has an approved list of cars that the bluetooth will work with, which Ferrari is not one of them. They lock the bluetooth capabilities so that you can only use them on earpieces, and other specific devices that they allow. The reason they do this is because they dont want people transferring information to and from there computers or other devices because people could transfer pictures, games, ringtones etc. for free and they would lose money that way. I think it is VERY stupid of them to do that and some have even gone as far as to file suit against them for it. I had a v710 as well for sometime and I bought a motorola install kit for my Ferrari, which is on their list of approved devices. Guess what, it was an older model kit and the phone wouldn't recognize the kit. Called tech support and the whole nine yards to find out mine was an older and 'not compatible' motorola install kit. I now have a Razr and it works fine with it. I had an A630 before the v710 and it worked fine with it. ANY PHONE IN THE WORLD WILL WORK WITH IT EXCEPT ANY VERIZON WIRELESS BLUETOOTH PHONE.
Let me know if you have any more questions..

Disregard that post! I'm an idiot! I leave it up there just in case it answers someone else's question. I thought you were talking about a car kit. I'm not very good in the morning :) That is odd. The only thing I can tell you is make sure BOTH devices are in DISCOVERABLE mode...the EARPIECE has to be in discoverable mode for the phone to find it. I think on most of them you hold the button done for like 10 or 15 secs on the earpiece, it should say in your manual. If you have both in discoverable mode and it still not finding it, something has to be wrong with the earpiece....2 devices not finding the same earpiece means its on the earpiece side. It might still be PAIRED with old device also...see if there is a way to reset that on the earpiece.

I have a bluetooth enabled Blackberry, and the original headset i was provided with, a Jaspro, or something like that, would initially "synch" with the phone, but thereafter, every time i needed to make an outgoing call, or receive an incoming one, the thing would sort of freeze, and remain dormant, sometimes sending a message that it was "looking for" the headset device. I was told by one IT person that the Blackberry "timed-out" the bluetooth feature to save battery strength, which ultimately turned out not to be the problem. The problem was that the headset was not truly compatible with the phone, even though both were "bluetooth." I replaced the first headset with a motorola that was intended to work with the Blackberry, and haven't had any problems since. Once the phone and earpiece are intialized to each other, its a simple matter of whipping out the headset and activating it. Immediately the phone asks if i want to "talk with" that headset- i punch the "yes" button, and a second later, i'm hooked up. Every once in a while, when i loose signal, the headset connection will get lost, and i have to reactivate the headset, basically by turning it on/off- easy, because you do that by swinging open the mike boom from the closed position, and i'm back in business.
Short moral of story- not all bluetooth compatible devices are fully compatible.
