Certainly not like in a quiet sedan, but adequately. Today I replaced my 90's era CD receiver with a new Sony unit (Model MEX-BTUW) with a USB port and Bluetooth. First, it was a nice surprise to discover that the amp and speakers installed in by the PO are super when driving around town with the windows down and top off. Then I tested the BT at 40 mph, with the windows down and top off, and my wife reported from home that she could here me clearly. When I got on the freeway, I called her again while doing 70 with traffic passing by. She could still understand me and I could understand her. That's all I was after. And amazingly, that was with the unit's internal mike; no dongle mike needed. I'm also looking forward to streaming audio from the microSD card in the phone with BT.

I checked at a number of units; all the added features have the interface on virtually all sgl DIN car audio head units pretty horrible, but that's a different thread. The Sony was also the least garish in appearance; most are pretty hideously styled.

Next audio job is to do something about the retracting antenna and get something that pulls in a signal from more than 10 miles away.
