Probably a password required - perhaps the 430 has a bluetooth manual with this in?

Perhaps your phone doesn't speak Italian?

I have found that Bluetooth pairing is very hit and miss. Bluetooth implemented in many phone brands have compatibility issues and pairing two devices with different versions of Bluetooth doesn't usually work very well. Both of my cars have Bluetooth and we have two different Bluetooth phones (both of which are brand new)

Always check the compatibility listing for your car. If it is an older phone and not specifically listed as compatible, then you 'may' have problems. The latest Motorola phones and handsfree kits are the most seamless in my experience. Whereas, there are a lot of compatibility issues with Blackberry's. Bluetooth stuff from anybody (Motorola included) a year ago was horrible.

As a rule of thumb, always upgrade your phone so that it is newer than the device in your car. Early Bluetooth phones will not work in many new '05+ cars. Keep the firmware in your phone up to date to improve the compatibility if there are any remaining issues.

If you have multiple phones, always pair the phone for the primary driver first. The car will seek and connect to the phone in position 1 when it is in range. When we got our first Bluetooth car, this was a bit inconvenient when my wife pulled out of the driveway and tried to make a call....only to realize that the car had paired to my phone on the kitchen countertop rather than hers after she had driven out of range of my phone. This is only a convenience issue since you can manually search for the next paired phone.

Ferrari and Becker have been trying to get the Bluetooth in my father's F430 to work since day 1. We have tried it with several diff phones with little luck.
