Anyone know why the Ferrari pit camera was blurry in the middle (and only theirs) - I'm guessing they wanted to disguise any tweeking going on in the cockpit - any other conspiracy theorists out there with me on this?

Bloody good race. Well done lads.

    Cheers,
    Jon

I was wondering the same thing. For some reason they probably didn't want the competition seeing something. They may be able to determine settings by getting an over head shot of the steering wheel???

In the beginning of the race the general concensus of the group that I watch with was that it was a drop of water. As the race went along, and it continued that way, we began to wonder. I tend to think it was blurred on purpose because of how perfectly it covered the cockpit. As for why they would do this? I have no idea. Maybe it is there to hide that MS has a DVD player installed so he can have something to do during the races.

We've seen that same shot in other races without blurs. No conspiracy needed, it was water on the lens

It was water! Every car is different, so the other teams can take a look at any setting they want to look at. It will be a different optimum setting on their car.

    "perfectly it covered the cockpit"

The cockpit was in the center of the shot... where the water was... mystery over.

Well, we figured it was water too, but it seemed a little odd it was there the whole race, and only on their camera. Ah well.

    Cheers,

was the camera blurred to cover something written on the pitlane.....

Messrs Ecclestone and Schumacher had been in a row that weekend over the 7 times world champ insignia. Maybe something had appeared on the pitlane, not unheard of in Monza. Unlikely that FOM would give up shots of Ferrari pitstops.

I think that it was more than just a coincidence that the spot covered the cockpit for the whole race. There are certainly many was to confuse the competition and this could be one of them.

Wouldn't water tend to evaporate after an hour? I know that FOM is terribly sensitive about non-official images being broadcast or seen during one of their events. As an example, I heard they even cover up the Coke machines at INDY because Coke doesn't pay up for the F1 race there.

Did MS have something painted on his helmet referring to the 7 times thing? That may have been the reason. I think it strange that it was blurry the whole race. A camera tech would have picked it up early and had it changed.

I think it had to do something with the Ferrari car, because the camera that shot the pitstops of ou dear friend Rubens had exactly the same blur on the same spot. Strange isn't it.

May be they censured them because of the boners Michael and Rubens got from driving the race...
