It is the same filter as the BMC Air Filter but with a carbon frame: i have it in my car for about 2 years now and highly recommend it: deeper sound and better performance!
Yes only one filter is necessary, and suitable for the Speciale. The best feature is that it adds a lot of sound depth (15% more airflow): check out the depth of the sound at near idle at the beginning of the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwGdLbAEkBo
So we purchase a $500k car and for some reason we think the filter needs a different design ... weird. Stupid Ferrari, all that expertise and they cannot design an air filter!@! ... should have bought a GM/Ford Pete
Only BMC Carbonfibre airbox gives about 15% more air flow than stock paper filter. I have it on my car and measured the airflow by the service own equipment and have measured 754 and 752 kg of air/hour on each cyclinder bank. Service tech told me that they have seen 650-660 kg of air/hour on original box/filter at the highest.
