If I was gong to get another BMW right now, I would get a 2005 330 Ci. Black with beige interior. Hard to keep clean for a daily driver but a stunning combo.

Does look nice, although I miss my e46 coupe which was a stunner for a 4-seater.

I'll stick my neck out and say this new 3 coupe is the best looking Bangle BMW, for what that's worth.

The interior is great, but I'm not crazy about the back, but I'm sure it will grow on me. I can't wait to see the M3.

That also what my dad just picked up. He loves it, too. Great for the trip up to Indy. Is yours 5-speed or auto?

I've got a 328Ci and I love it! 5 speed with every option, it's an incredible car for what they're selling for nowadays.

I'm saving to get one used - I've driven them and love them. Maybe I can even get a 330ci...

Can't wait until they get here in the next month or so to take both of them for a test drive. Then I have to decide how deep in the pockets I want to dig. After factoring up with options there was only around a $4k difference, and being in the 40's 4k is really nothing.

Then the harder part will be not modding anything. Which I swore I won't do after I get rid of my Silverado. We'll see.

Oh and if anyones wondering the 328 starts at 35,300 and the 335 at 40,600.

My friend just called me and said he was on his way back from dallas in a CPO used '05 330ci with performance package. I can't wait to see it.

Ditto here for my daily driver. 2000...only year of the 328Ci. It is about to flip 100k and still runs like new. 34MPG at 70mph. The sticks give excellent mileage. White with black leather and wood. It is time for my annual detail at the dealer...I am getting my money's worth on that option!

This new coupe has a nicer rear then the 5 and 6 series. Their rear end screams Toyota...this new Coupe's is all BMW. Nice car, but I am not going to be looking for one for about 5 years or so.

2001 330 CI. I like it much better than the Boxter. I A friend of mine has had nothing but BMW's for twenty years, mostly 5's. He has an E90 sedan and has 80K miles on it. His opinion--he does not like it. I'm looking for a 02-04 black M-3.

I'm actually considering the 328 over the 335 b/c for one the long term daily use of the turbos scares the hell out of me. That and for what I need right now I should focus more on just a car that I know I'll love and enjoy as is, nothing to over the top.

My friend, fellow car(Ferrari) nut let me drive his ci yesterday. I couldn't sleep at all last night and I think it is b/c I can't wait for my car.

Just a quick question, I'm strongly considering the 6sp b/c after driving his bimmer it feels like that's the way it was meant to be. But this would be my first manual. Is there a chance I'll grow tired of it after a bit since I've only driven autos since I was 15?

The idea of buying the first turbo'd BMW in many years scares me too. While I may buy the E90 sedan late this year or early next, I think I will stay away from the 335, even though it sounds great.

As for the tranny, I've read alot about people having issues with their E46 steptronics around the 80k mark.

Official figures for a new 335Ci I believe are:
    302 bhp @ 5800 rpm
    295 lb ft @ 1300 rpm
    155 mph (limited)
5.5sec 0-62mph (these are the UK figs, don't know if US cars are different)

Don't worry about everyday use of turbos - in Europe over 60% of cars sold these days are turbo diesels and BMW have been selling turbo diesels since the early 90's. Ok they use lower pressure, but a turbo'd petrol engine shouldn't be any worse - just drive the last mile of every journey off-boost to allow the turbo to cool gradually and stop the oil cooling too quickly in the turbo which causes them to seaze.

Visually I really like it, but that car looks BIG in pictures. Those profile shots look more like a 6-series than the new 3-series. I'm sure the new M3 will be great, but BMW needs to make a new smaller chassis for people who liked the E30 and E36 generations. Maybe that's what the new Z4 is supposed to do, but it loses too much practicality for me. It's a looker though, Bangle's cars are getting better looking.

BMW is bringing the 1-series to the US - that should satisfy you.

Also of note: they've promised that the next-generation 3-series will weigh less than the current one.

It looks REALLY great up close, but I would hold off on the turbo for now. Is it just me or has BMW really been failing to design great looking back bumpers, especially the tail lights. WTH, BMW cannot design tail lights! I can already seen the tail light refresh coming very soon not too short after the inital release. Stunning car though, but I want to see how it will hold up against the next generation G35.
