I've owned a 2003 BMW Z4 2.8si roadster and an awesome Z4 3.0si coupe that I used on track events. The coupe had seen Spring Mountain Motor Sports Ranch, Willow Springs and Las Vegas Speedway on vartious occasions. Below is a link to a in-car cam video on La Vegas Speedway road course. I had just put on some Hankook Ventus V12 tires a week prior to the track day. They stuck well, but squealed a bit more than I liked.

I know this is not what you guys what to hear; but, BMW makes the best seats in the business. The 20-way sport seat cannot be beat. You can tell if a car has these seats by the broke-back (sorry) seats, which allow the top 1/3 to pull forward. For a long-waisted, fat guy with short arms, it doesn't get any better than this.

Sold my M3 earlier in the year. Great car, a little nose heavy on the track, but fantastic on the road. Used to own an E34 M5 back in 1995, so I took a long break from the M-cars.

Vas, I thought you were just a BMW rental car junkie!

Man speaks truth. These seats were first used in the E38 many moons ago. Still love em!

I'm an avid BMW enthusiast. IMO, these amazing cars are a stepping stone into Porsche then Ferrari ;)

Here's a recent shot of my far from stock 330Ci on the Tail of The Dragon at Deal's Gap, North Carolina! 3300km roadtrip of a lifetime.

I'd hardly call it a stepping stone to Porsche. The M cars are pricey especially the new M3. The M5 is at 100k now and outperforms many p cars.

Yes, I will end up getting a Ferrari...

I have never been a huge Porsche guy but I do appreciate the cars.

Thanks... could be worse though, after all, my house is still standing!!

My plan is to find a nice 5 series as a parts car, then replace the hood, deck lid, and sunroof insert. I'll cut them in before I install them of course. From there only the roof itself will need to be straightened, along with a handful of dings on the tops of the doors. I'll get the entire car repainted in the original color and thus it should look better than when you saw it.

In the meantime, I just tell everyone it's the super-rare M5 Golf Ball Edition! :D

My wife and I are huge BMW fans. We met at a BMWCCA meet back in 2005. Together we have had about a dozen BMWs including E36 M3 coupe, E36 M3 sedan, E39 M5, E39 528i, E36 325is, E36 328i, 57 Isetta 300, 318ti and several more. My daily driver is still that bulletproof E39 528i. Nothing really compares to driving a BMW. They are so solid, smooth, safe and reliable. I will always have a BMW for my daily driver.

Were these seats every available as an option in the 3 cars? I'm getting old because my number one trigger in a daily driver is the seat. Frankly, I have never met any Porsche seat I liked, and the seat in the Maranello was torture.

that's such a cool little car.

are you really using it as a daily driver? isn't your commute ~50 interstate miles?

2 days a week. 43 miles each way.

I have a squealing fan belt and an oil leak up front maybe from the timing chain cover gasket. I think maybe some oil got on the belt...so it gets a few days off for a little R/R.

It does have its skinny little X-AS tires, piccie

As far as I remember, standard in the 7-series, optional in the 5s, not available in the 3s.

    That's what I'm afraid of.

Folks, if you have never tried this seat, you need to do so. It is really that good.
