Well, except for the fact the horn started blowing in a parking lot the other day and I disconnected it. Gratuitous pic from the Euro Auto Festival at the BMW plant 2009 (note the blue ribbon on the dash.... ): Image Unavailable, Please Login
BMW e34 535i/5. My sn is 87shark over there.
Nice! I'm on Bimmerforums and M5Board.com, same SN, though I rarely post on either. Shiny Side Up! Bill
Very cool! I actually run TS wheels on my E89 as well! Barely clear but just enough! I am over there as well. Also with some multi thousand post count.
Thank you for the kind words! I have a feeling that I one day I will REALLY regret selling it. I sold it locally, so I still see it from time to time. It was an EXCELLENT drivers car.
How much are they these days? They are getting pretty silly expensive over here in Europe (those worth buying, anyway).
Here, you are looking at about $10k for an average one and about $15k for a great one. Although, I have seen some with low, low mileage for ~$20k. I know from experience that all of the 80's German sports cars are not only rising significantly, but they are also going back to Europe. I work at a dealership that specializes in special interest vehicles and I see vehicles going back to Europe for all the money, which is raising prices on this side of the pond too.
I will try to get some later. ASAIK, no one else anywhere runs them on the car. No one was even sure they would fit (clear the brakes/not stick out of the fender/mount the new OEM TPMS/etc), but they do! Seems the 'youngins' favor 19 and 20 inch wheels instead! Actually going to the Mtechs was the best change ever! The ride is MUCH better now the super low profile 18in runflats are off of it. Still firm but not jarring as it was before.
Wow. I guess it's the same thing as American Muscle cars. Those who wanted them couldn't afford them. Now they can, and it's driving the prices up. The E30 M3 went up like hell (doubled its price?) in about 5 years. Latest Sports Evo (II?) in mint condition are going for Ferrari 348 in good condition money.
If my '88 M5 was an E30 M3, I probably would still have it now. I'm a BMW guy, but I am super partial to the 3-series. One of these days I'll get my own E30 M3 and keep it. But until that day, I have something to look forward to.
Yup, going to have an old school M-car myself. They are so damn good to drive, with no electronic nannies. Second best thing after a supercar IMHO. Makes you wanna drive and drive and drive.
Here is my new to me '99 M3. Got it a few months ago. Actually found it at a specialist that was mentioned in another thread on fchat. It is so much fun to drive. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, now I know the difference between a BMW and a Ferrari. Took the car to the local 2002 Guru. He diagnosed the trouble as a bad A/C belt, the leak as a loose oil filter. He called me and told me it was going to take some labor to get to the belt...I said "do what's needed". Told me they didn't have a lot to do so both guys spent the afternoon on it.... So, he changes the belt, put on a new one 1/2 inch shorter so the pulley no longer touches the idler, diagnosed the oil leak and changed/flushed the brake fluid. $184.94. I **** you not. http://campobellocars.com/ .
I did NOT click on that link, and I certainly did NOT see those two E30 M3's they have for sale. nope. didn't see them. not tempted at all. darn you, Uro!!!!!!
I currently have a 2006 e90 330i and 2008 e60 M5. The M5 e60 is freakin FAST!!! Can't wait until the new M5 comes out. Rumored to have 575hp----Pics of both the cars are in My Garage profile
