Does anyone have any ownership experiences with these cars? Any good resouces that I should check out.

Don't worry, a 308 GTB is in the cards next, but I've always wanted one of these things and the asking prices are making them look very attractive right now.

Erik, I'm really starting to wonder about you. First this affliction for unloved Ferraris. (Do you also take in stray kitty kats?) Now, this craving for what may have been one of the most unloved BMWs ever? Man, you need to cut back on the MSG. :)

    Dr. Miata Lover:

I really do feed about 8 stray cats now (plus the 2 we brought from the USA).

I like the unloved cars. It means I don't have to pay too much. What's the old saying about not wanting to be a member of a club that would have you as a member?

Besides, if I really wanted an odd ball BMW, I'd get a Dixi or an Isetta. The M1 may have been an "abortion", but its in the same line as the 959 and 288 GTO (and probably the MC12), a homologation special where the rules changed before the car made an effect. Nobody slams those cars. Its all about bang for the buck and the M1 beats the rest of them in that regard.

    Cheers,
    Erik

Okay, I've had several PM's about this (thank you guys). One question, I'm 6'2", am I going to fit in one of these things?

Hard to say. I'm 6'4" and I don't fit very well. I can drive it, but my head is touching the roof, or maybe I even slouch down a bit.
