Anyone on a list for an M6? Or get one of the new M5's? Or take a 550i or 650ci in favor of the M's?

Seems sticker on the M5 went up quite a bit - into the high 80's or even 90's with some options. M6 starts in the 90's but add HUD and you're easily over $100k. Thats some serious pocket change and one wonders if the M5 is really $20-30k more car than an 550i, and the M6 is $30k more car than the 650ci?

    Nice car!

Do you mind if I ask how you did on the price? If its private, just tell me to f-off :) I have heard on the roadfly message boards that the target price for an E60 is around $2k off MSRP. On the other hand, here in Boston, dealers will say "maybe" they could do one for MSRP or a little more if you will wait (then they show you the one you can drive home today for only $5-10k over MSRP).

On the other models (5-series, possibly 6-series) I know you can get $2-3k over invoice if you work them hard on an ordered car, but not sure about the M's.

I'll be picking up an E60 M5 in late Summer / early Fall.

My S4 isn't even a year old, so my girlfriend would kill me if I got rid of it this fast... but after 5/5/06 it'll be a year and easier to convince her I need an upgrade ;)

The dealer where I'm buying, United BMW, does not charge more than MSRP. With the options I've ordered, the MSRP=$90,505 + $695 destination charge + $3000 gas guzzler + 6% sales tax = $99,852...
