Thinking about a 2016 M6 convertible as a DD. I presently drive a 2014 Aston Martin DB9 Volante that I've never really liked. My DD needs to be suitable for parking at a corporate office, and yet fun to drive. It also needs to have some luggage space, at least enough to hold golf clubs as my other cars don't. My weekend cars are a 458 spider and Lamborghini Huracan. Any advice?

M6 is a two seater, keep that in mind. My only advice is either buy the extended maintenance and new car warranty or ditch the car before the expiration of the 4 year/50k mile new car warranty. They drink a lot of fuel!! Depending on driving habits and distances, you could be filling up 2-3x a week easily, not the cost thats a pain, just always stopping for fuel.
Love the soft close door option and the multi contour /active seats! I believe HUD is standard, if not make sure to include this option as well.
Carbon black is a very cool color!

    Post pics if you purchase!!

Robert, thanks for the feedback. I've never owned a BMW and don't know much about them. Might test drive this car after the holidays. Happy Holidays.

I have recently become a fan of the XKR. The coupe has a huge luggage provision and w/ 510 hp it will simply roast the tires if you like that type of grunt? Pretty like the DB 9 as well. May be worth a look. Have fun.

It's interesting you mention the Jag. I've had 5 XKR's since 2000 and had a 2013 XKR-S that I traded for the DB9 as I was mad at the Jag dealer on the price he wanted for me to trade up to the last model year of the XKR series. I should have kept the Jag!

I am actually considering an XKR S. I am looking for a low low mile example currently. It is truly a ton of car for the money and sexy too.

    High class problem you have:)

Think of m6 as a german version of a 60's muscle car with a fancy interior and will not be disappointed. Know a guy who had 4 of them and loved em

It was a great car. Sounded pretty good and a great performing car. The S I believe was 560HP. If you can, you should get it. I think Jag may be bringing back some version of the XK series in 2018 to compete in the $160k price range.

I have owned quite a few BMW's (somewhere between 36-39) including many M's (the last being a 07 M6), and I now have both a 650 coupe (my car was a BMW rep demo with every option) and convertible (current generation). My coupe has dinan upgrades (makes it close to M6 power). I would agree the backseats are not for real people (I cannot get both my 11 year olds back there and I am not tall). A couple things I will fill you in on. heads up is not standard (but very nice to have), and as part of the executive package you get the B&O sound system (my girlfriend has the HK in her car and always tells me how much better my cars sound is), as well. If you are a music lover good idea to get that. The car is big and the drivers aid (with all the cameras help) is also a good option. This car is no lightweight (I pulled the 20's off my car went with very lightweight 19's) and the steering is not as good as BMW's of the past. I would also agree it is like a German muscle car (heaven forbid but it reminds me of the 575 I owned) lots of torque pulls like a freight train. M cars have multiple adjustments and if you are not used to the BMW I drive system there is a bit of a learning curve. Also there are lots of coders out there (coding unlocks many of the features that they do not allow access to in the U.S.), my car is coded and I have the auto stop start engine thing off 9I hate that thing on cars). I have driven both XKR's and XKR-S's (considered buying one but the deal of the BMW was just too good to pass up) and the M6 is a better all around car. One more thing and no insult intended (but most people I know with money usually don't like throwing it out a window), if you are not leasing you will find certified version of these cars with very low mileage for close to 50K off sticker. I paid less than half of my cars 114K sticker (very low miles) when I bought it a year ago.

As a dd M6 Gran Coupe might suit you better than a regular M6.
