My buddy's 2008 M3 needs an emissions sensor replaced, but wants to find an independent shop since his warranty is up.

All suggestions welcome. He lives off 288 near downtown.

It's been since 2003 since I used them, but I was very happy with Silvio's Autohouse for work on my E36 M3. Very knowledgeable and professional. They're in Midtown at Bagby and Tuam.

Have to recommend Lewis Allen's place, Munich Motorwerke on Fountainview. Been in the same location since 1982. He's as good as they get!

i decided to add to this thread....

the last 2 times i went into eurocar werks i left disappointed.
eric is still a great guy, and his crew are polite and intent on a good service experience.

BUT, i went in for a couple specific issues....
    - they misdiagnosed the issue, despite having the car all day
    - they didnt really research it far enough (i could tell because they had not unbuttoned it sufficiently to actually see what the problem was)
    - gave me a repair estimate that was totally outrageous (claimed i needed to replace all sorts of parts, all the labor involved in doing so, and presented a bill for more than $4k, whereas i actually got it fixed for $600 all in).

basically my impression is that they dont really want to work on mundane issues. they prefer expensive cars, with 'mystery' ailments, that they can bs the owner about and charge a boatload on. i told him, that i have other resources to price labor, parts, and diagnose issues, but that i preferrred to come to him if possible because of his location and i liked him....and yet they continued to try to bs me. i didnt bother to call him on it, but i am unlikely to go back.

my mundane cars are now repaired at UZI's Autohaus, where i can highly recommend Gol and his crew. very good work, honest assessments, and good service.
