So my buddy just finished this BMW R50/2. Everything but the engine cases was redone. Complete engine rebuild, full paint and plating.

His next project? My very early R60/2. I've got pics of the "before" state, and some of the parts spread out on the floor. As of now the engine cases, hubs, rear end and tranny have been bead blasted, all of the chrome/cad/nickle plating has been done, and the sheet metal is out for repair and paint. Mine is going to be Dover White.

Mine will be done in time for the Legend of the Motorcycle Concours in May, then it will hit the AMCA shows this summer.

I dont know what I'll do with something this nice. Spinal Tap Voice: "Dont look at it, you'll wear it out."

Nice, and i see you have bottles of the propper restoration lube close at hand. Good work.

We have two R27's that will be built up as well (myself and several partners bought out a HUGE cache of european motorcycles). One for concours (just because no one current cares about these little bikes and the resto is likely to cost 5x what the bike is worth, therefore we'll have the ONLY one in that good of shape, twisted logic I know... but hey), and one will become a rider. One of my partners has a 3 mile commute to work on surface streets, so the second R27 will be his daily scooter.

Bad lighting and beer. First pic is Montessa, BSA, two Triumphs, Honda CB 750 with sand cast casings, Kaw Z1. The Kaw and the Honda are almost zero miles and both were in the AMA museum.

Second pic are all just brought in from storage. Little stuff, S90s, Dreams, you name it. At the end of that row is a fully faired CBX 6 cylinder.

I would have put a stainless oil pan under it.

My 77 doesn't leak any oil. Not a drop. Took about 30 - 40 hours of lapping each and every seam, but it doesn't leak any oil, and makes about 2 times what a stocker makes. On our dyno a stocker makes about 32 - 33 HP at the rear wheel, the 77 makes 65. Fast enough to have a little fun with the F4 and Ninja drivers.

my 68 B25 Trumpet leaks like a sieve. Full rebuid on the engine, new gaskets, a little lapping here and there... and it just pees oil. Thats ok. I know when its out... when it stops leaking. Had it on the dyno, 21 HP. Not too bad. I've got a 10hp Nitrous set up on it now... next summer? back out to Bonneville with it. :D
