I have a friend who is looking to purchase a new 435 xdrive as her daily driver. I recall that BMW had issues with the high pressure fuel pumps/injectors.....have they been resolved? Any other issues to be wary of? Thanks in advance.

Turbo drain lines gum up if oil is not changed religiously which can wreak all kinds of havoc. I would not use the recommended intervals (something like 15k miles in normal driving) and change more often.

I bought my girlfriend a convertible as a birthday present and she needed a back seat for the kids. We looked at a lot of cars and we were both pretty amazed at how bad the 4 series interior was. The car we drove was in the high 60's and it was not what I have come to expect from BMW. she ended up really liking the 650i and we found a CPO's car (109K sticker)with 4k miles for a couple thousand more than the 435 cost. She loves it and it is so much more car for the money than a 435. I have owned a lot of BMW's over the years and I just do not see the value in a 4 series.

I have no idea if BMW has finally fixed those issues, but I experienced both of them with my previous 135i coupe. In 2 years, I replaced the fuel pump twice, and in 2 months, all 6 of my injectors failed. Just a headache. I know some people who have replaced that damn pump more than me !!

For the M6 series, the common problems are the rods, SMG and Vanos... which can get expensive! It's not if, but when they'll fail.
