BMW X6

For the crowd it runs with (Cayenne, Range Rover Sport, ML-class, FX) I'd say it looks pretty good. I've seen it in virtually all colors, since BMW execs and their demos run rampant in this part of the country. Have even seen a couple X6Ms in silver running around. Those look especially sleek, until you learn they're $90k. Then, they're a little less attractive. I think the X6 xdrive50 or whatever they call it, is probably the best "value" in that model.

 

It's much better looking than the Pontiac Aztek.

But as JM4RE posted, I could think of other things to buy with $90K.

I'd much rather have a 2wd H1 hummer with 4" of ground clearance, chin spoiler, rear wing, and a rear diffuser...

BMW will niche market itself into oblivion. More crap on the thing than a Pontiac Grand Prix thing. Rides like crap, as does the X5. Can't wait for the 5 Touring POS. Chevy Citation/AMC Eagle reborn. Bastids ruined a great brand for style and volume.

 

FUGLY. If you want to spend 90k get a used Z8.

 

My next door neighbor has one, and try as I have, I just can understand the reason for thie thing. It makes a Cayenne look good, and now a 100K M version, seems like BMW is loosing its way.

 

Don't see the point of them, and i'm not too keen on the looks either.

 

X6-Beyond ugly and perhaps a even rival to the first new generation 7-series...

 

Nishil, if you intend to do some off roading in the Bush, there are better vehicles.
If you intend to drive mainly on paved roads, there are better vehicles.

I loved BMW's when they were small, (reasonably) light driver's cars.

now they are bloated, over-styled rolling supercomputers driven by $30k millionaires and young real estate agents trying to impress people.

 

Over here Ferrari has a name for that kind of buyers.

 

I couldn't have said it better myself. Everytime I get the latest and greatest loaner model during my service, I still prefer my "old" BMW - flaws and all! This may be my one and only Bimmer unless I go with an E9

I am not a fan of the X6 but I was in Hamburg airport last week and saw BMW's new 5 series based hatchback.
Wow BMW have really lost the plot IMHO

Ugly, stupid & pointless. A good way of saying "look at me, i've got money"

 

I personally like the X6... until i saw the rear of the X6M... does it really look THAT bad.. ugh, if the standard X6 rear looks like that (which im sure it looks almost exactly like that, minus the exhaust pipes) then may opinion might change

 

I agree with most on here that there is no way I would buy the M version. But the one with the turbo V8 is a fun ride.

It seems that cars are being built for an image and actual use now. Most SUV/SAV owners are not hauling anything, aren't going off road, and are only driving them because they are not a station wagon and the increased ride height makes the commute easier. They don't want a minivan, wagon or suburban. They want to say they have an SUV though. So they buy these or any of the other crossover vehicles that are out there.

Doesn't mean they are good or bad, just realize that the mob doesn't think about vehicles the same way most enthusiasts on this site would.

 

I hate these things. Just give me a 4.8iS in Estoril and I'll be happy...
