board games: when was the last time you played one?

If I remember right, it was Monopoly with three chicks about two years ago.

Considering the name of the game, I think I won before we even started.

I played Candyland and Chutes and Ladders last night with my 3 yr old daughter.

 

Trivial pursuit back in college.

 

Scrabble was the last board game I played.

 

I don't know about you but the last time I went with my ex-gf in a Vegas hotel room we didn't play any boardgames. No board, no dice...., heck, not even a shirt was necessary... and we stil ha a BLAST!

Oh, yes the boardgame thing... I think that was in Junior high back in 1985 or something, and it was Monopoly. Afther that it was mostly Monopoly on PC, Playstation, etc. We had a Scrabble competition on the office LAN a couple of years ago.

 

My wife and I play backgammon pretty regularly.

 

Last one I played was Candyland with my daughter. But before that it would have been Monopoly.

 

I'm a cribbage player and play all the time.

 

I played Risk with a some friends a couple of weeks ago. That is a loooooong game. I was in the process of conquering the world when somebody knocked a beer onto the board. The cleanup knocked off most of the pieces.

Australia, chaps. Hold the continent early and collect your spoils on every turn.

Well before I first got laid.

 

Monopoly and Risk a couple weeks ago, my friends are generally lazy and rather unemployed.

 

I played a four hour game of Monopoly. You know, Board Walk is a pretegious square in Monopoly. But in real life, Board Walk rental properties are ugly and not pretegious.

 

Does "Twister" count?

 

We played Drunken Operation about a year ago. It's the old game Operation, and if you set off the buzzer you take a shot, but if you make a clean operation you tell someone to take a shot.

Played Monopoly or Trivia Pursuit few years ago at family reunion.

I play chess & backgammon for relaxing w/ my wife or kids, too.

 

2 years ago teaching my niece to play RISK. It was one of my favorite games as a kid.

 

It's been a little over eight months since i destroyed a college English professor and published author in a game of Scrabble... That's the last board game i've played... Anyone daring (or stupid) enough to play me is welcome in Atlanta anytime...

I find that the professional English folk are always fun to play Scrabble against. They always try to come up with obscure words to show off their vocabulary, while ignoring smaller, more common high point combos. I find that if you memorize the 2 letter word list, you have an incredible upper hand.

 

He tried not to ignore anything and admitted before hand that he'd not played in a long time... But he was no match for my two letter words and seven letter-50 point bonus words...
