I am sure you are more than welcome to come see the start and finish. I'm not so sure how it would be for you to " follow along " or try and keep up with the participants during the drive itself. I am sure you will have alot of good photo ops as well! Thoughts? S p.s. I'd like to meet you when you get to Ferrari as well, just to say hello.
Bring an Evo and friends and keep yelling "WE'RE IN THE RALLY!" (seriously, watch it if you want a good laugh) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCpaCAfhCH4[/ame] In all honesty, I think you could come to LoD or BWF and walk around, and watch the cars leave and stuff. I don't think it'd be a problem. Also, I'll be in a GT3 (not driving), so maybe look around for me. I'd like to meet you.
I've seen that video before a I actually LOL'd when I read your post. I might seek you out if I go. I could try to follow. It's the acceleration that would get me probably. What time will the cars get to Ferrari? I am always up for seeing some cool cars (especially Ferraris) if it includes looking like fool sitting off to the side of the real party.
I don't think you'd look like a "fool sitting off to the side of the real party". You are a part of the DFW FerrariChat family. So, you're pretty much already part of the party anyway.
I'm sort of a part of it. I need a Ferrari or a good friend with a Ferrari to be in the party or in this case "in the rally"
+1 My first poker run on land...have only done one on a boat before. It will be a full Ferrari day for me...Starbucks, poker run and laps for charity. Giddyup!!!!
Just bring an Evo and friends and you'll be considered part of the rally if we can hear you say "WE ARE OFFICIALLY IN THE RALLY!" a few times. But seriously, come to Boardwalk or LoD if you like. You are more than welcome to. After all, you did get the scoop on the event from an employee (Steve). If we meet, I'll let you sit with me at Boardwalk when lunch is served.
The advantages of Fchat- figuring out about events that you wouldn't have a chance of ring able to go to since I don't own a Ferrari. You are too kind. Thanks for the offer but I probably won't be able to stay at BW for te lunch because I have other things going on in the early afternoon
So how was it? I watched the take off then played catch up until something came up and I had to attend to that.
I ended up not going. Had fever Thursday and last night, and didn't want to take a chance of me getting sick on the rally.
This was my first time attending, and it was a lot of fun! There was a bit of traffic and my pair of 10's was worthless . . . but great drive, great chat with some fun folks, and lots of fun cars to see and drive with. The prizes were a lot bigger than I thought they would be. 1st place was Marci (The Godmother" on here) with a Four of a Kind (10's). She won a $500 Cash Card, a Ferrari Watch, a Lamborghini Jacket, a Hockey Stick signed by the entire Dallas Stars Team, and a picture of two key Stars players signed by them, as well. But, that was a heck of a first price. Wade (sushimon355) won 5th place or something thereabouts with 3 Jacks, I think. I look forward to it next year.
