Can anyone tell me when the quick release for the foward end of the rear deck was introduced (308GTB). I owned 2 GTBs back in the '80s (fibreglass) and they both had this feature. I recently purchased an early steel model (chassis no 19367, and yes I know it should be glass!) and it has a convential hinge attached to the deck with 6 bolts (3 per side).

I believe ONLY the early 1975 and 1976 cars fibreglass as you note had the engine bonnet quick release.......in 1977 they went to the bolted lid.

    Anyone else?

First year steel are good cars, IMO....two of them out front in the drive, going up in value...last of the legal NON CAT cars here in USA.

Of course, as are the 1976 and 1975s.....!!!
