Texas section of SAE had a tour of Bob Smith Coachworks and my father signed both of us up to look at this! My god, the man does beautiful work to Ferraris. He had, I believe, two 250 GTOs, a 166, and then a 300SL, along with a few others. Some were in the midst of restoration, some were beautifully finished. It was nice and he ran a good shop, was fun to see into the shop of a restorer Here are just a few the pictures I took. Fantastic photos, thanks for shaaring. I've always wanted to visit his shop but somehow I keep missing my chances.
He's moving soon to a new shop. The current one is 25 years old, but he's moving it to a new building in a year or two. Should be nice there.
Been there before (last year) - definitely agree that he does fantastic work. Our Fort Worth MB group went there last month and had raves about his work too. Carol
Thanks for the pics .. If I am not mistaken I have seen the blue SWB at Festa Ferrari. Lovely car. Lovely the lines of the SL - classic car
Bob is a super nice guy who always has the time to share his love for cars. He came over to FoDallas one day to look over a car he had done over 10 years earlier. He remembered everything he had done to it and found what had been changed, the battery cables and battery. It all looked original to me but he knows much more than I do. Heck, he has probably forgotten more about cars than any of us will ever know...........................
