Not sure if any of you here have ever done Bodypump, but I'd invite you to give it a try. I've done it off and on but just went again today.

For the guys out there, don't shy away from it just because you see a bunch of women there. It is a very difficult and rewarding workout.

If you decide to try it, don't start with too much weight. Form and finishing all of the reps is most important. Do not put as much weight on as the women do because they are women. If they have been there for some time, their bodies are conditioned to the workout.

    Give it a try!

Bodypump is ideal to build cardiovascular power as well as to increase stamina, lose fat, and tone the body.

I've tried this class when I was a member of the Goodlife Fitness gym in Toronto.

I very much enjoyed the class, as I like to think I have a bit more of a fitness background and know what muscles I should be feeling with each workout. What I noticed with this particular class was that too many people around me did not. As a result, at the end of the class, people were rubbing their sore, tweaked muscles and complaining about neck pain, etc. The class went very quickly and the instructor didn't pay attention to the class at all, and many people were left battered and bruised.

Although this is a great class, I would suggest to start out with a personal trainer that will point out what you should be feeling and where with every exercise. Learn what you should be feeling and then venture on your own.

I have trained bodypump on and off for 10 years. Many people, specially guys, use too much weights and loose the technique. Since you are doing some 100 lifts in 4 minutes for each muscle group, you will put a lot of stress on your joints and ligaments if the barbell is too heavy and your technique is sloppy.

Don't look at others what they have on their barbells, if you're a guy, specially don't look at the girls (how much they lift, that is. A nice butt in tights in front off you may help you endure all 50 minutes ;-) hehehe). I have seen musclebound 200lbs guys go in, put a lot of weights on and then cave in halfway through the songs....

I think it is the perfect workout since you will target every major musclegroup. But, it is very important that you like the instructor(s). A dull uninspiring person will ruin the class....
