Boeing developing a Bombardier?

    I read this yesterday... don't remember where at the moment; paraphrasing:


    "Boeing is adapting it's P-8 (737) technology to a smaller plane for customers that can’t afford the larger P-8 maritime-watch plane.

    So, they're talking to Bombardier about providing a smaller business jet for their P-8 technology.

    Boeing is currently modifying a company-owned Challenger business jet, to show the technologies for a small maritime plane."

    There are smaller planes than the 737 that are already in use, so I'm not surprised.

    BOEING Maritime Surveillance Aircraft concept of a scaled down P-8 for international partners is based on a BOMBARDIER 605.

    The way I get it is that BOMBARDIER would be the preferred choice, but that BOEING is keeping other options open.
