    When the arresting wire breaks on one end like that, it usually makes the landing aircraft yaw pretty badly. They were lucky they made it.

    The ones on the deck were the lucky ones. I have friends that were present at a cable failure. Usually results in a lot of body parts laying around. I also have friends that have rolled off the end of the deck. Not a great situation but they are prepared for that.

    This one sounds like it went as well as can ever be expected.

    Looks like broken arms, legs, hip, etc.
    You'd expect amputations.

    No fatalities.

    They land under full power for a reason.
