So I enjoyed the new Bond movie.

    Loved his new DBS.

Not sure why it isn't easily outrunning the Alfa 159's.

Any thoughts. I know it is a movie. Didn't think there was any comparison.

Good action flick, but not a good Bond movie. DBS had what felt like a cameo appearance, and all beat up for most of it. I'm underwhelmed with the recent Bond films, and especially with the de-emphasis on cars.

A lame movie on many levels. Batman made the transition to brooding but it is not working for me with Bond. I didn't think the opening chase was that great either. Too much use of the close in gyro camera. Little feel of speed and and as you said, the car was trashed from the get go.

I miss the gadget laden, smug Bond. The Bourne series does a better job. IMO

    Big thumbs down.

I totally disagree. The old Bond would have had some stupid gadget that would have ended the car chase cleanly, ridiculously, and scratch-free. Then he would have had some stupid pun that you would have laughed at because you couldn't believe you were sitting through such an awful movie. Instead, people get hurt, the car gets messed up, and you're way more impressed and excited because despite how inhumanly awesome Bond is, the outcome felt like it might have been in jeopardy. I will agree that the new one wasn't really at the level of Casino Royale, but the new Bond films are just lightyears beyond any of the old ones.

    Man w the Golden Gun

    The Spy who loved me

    The Living Daylights and

    Die Another Day

Daniel Craig is ok but 007 is too PC, the Aston w no toys is lame, and where is the bad guys fortress ?

I absolutely love the two newest films. These are great films and the best since Sean Connery's, but different as they are more realistic and less gadget based. The acting, directing, cinematography, etc., are all incredible. You can't keep making the same movie over and over and over with the old formula. The new direction is a good change. It keeps the Bond theme fresh.
