Show the LIME GREEN 308! THAT's an unusual color!

My baby girl said she wanted that one. Don't know how I'd get it to Texas!

My LORD there's some nice looking stuff there!!

Looks like that same white Challenge Stradale that graced our site earlier in the week. Think it was said that it was previously for sale by AutoSalon Singen. Maybe they consign some of their cars to this auction, or at least some of their customers do....

Do most rare / vintage / competition cars trade at auction? If they trade at auction and on the regular market, how do prices compare?

Actually, no. The worst place to buy one of these cars is at an auction like this, compared to a private negotiated sale.

That said, the auction companies manage to pry these cars awayfrom the owners based upon profit realized, so it's a double edged sword.

The Pelentier Collection is an example. You just won't find a classified ad in the paper for these type cars. And, you'd most likely pay market value for it, if you did!

That's why these events are closely watched by vintage dealers.
    They actually determine the market!

The auction atmosphere can result in overpaying, but sometimes a sleeper will come thru. Let's watch the glass 308, you'll see what I mean!

Keep us updated as they sell!

Damn, I hear it's nice in Gstaad this time of year.

How does the Swiss Franc value against US Dollar?

I guess they'd freak out as I strapped my snow skis on top of the green
308GTB and headed out for the slopes!

I'd put "In memory of..... " on the back first though.

After my Ferrari ownership experience, I don't think I'd argue with a thief over it! Take a bullet? Definately not.

I figure they'd abandon it when it broke down, further up the road.

Also interesting to note that the EURO 308GTB is equipped with the STANDARD front spoiler.

My sweetie was looking last night, and when we got to the 275GTB, she said "Ohhhhhhhhh.. I'd drive that! REAL FAST!" LOL

That looks like a regular, white 360 Challenge to me. Not a Stradale. Note the stock 360 bumper, tow hook, front hood latches, single seat, and Challenge wheels.

    Yes I will.

For this auction, the dollar value is 1$ = 1.29SFR.

What? Is my reading comprehension awful this morning or did someone edit out the story? The green 308 cost a man his life?

BTW - cavallino, thanks for the excellent pictures.

Just got back from Gstaad (thanks for the delays British Airways). Personally I didn't think there were any real bargains to be had, except for the 288GTO, under the hammer for SFR 310,000 (£139,000ish) and believe it or not the 250SWB SFR 950,000 (£427,500) was really well priced although it needed money spent on it. The yellow Daytona had really rough bodywork IMO, yet still made sfr 170,000 (£76,500).

The Grey GTC/4 was absolutely stunning I cannot believe there is a better one in the world.
