Any recommendations? I like to read about how teams get organized, funded, etc. Any books related to this that you know of?

In the early 1990s there was a big book by F1 driver Guy Edwards: 'Sponsorship and the World of Motor Racing', but no current titles that I know of.

Guenther Steiner (or however you spell it) wrote a book last year or the year before. Its more a memoir, but it discusses a lot about how he put the Haas team together, and there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff about running a team. It was interesting. I listened to in on audible, Guenther reads it.

Williams: The Business of Grand Prix Racing by Alan Henry. Circa 1991 but I found it worthwhile as insight into the evolution of F1 racing/business up to that time.

Just bought ‘The Formula’, a new book by two Wall Street Journal reporters. Just started reading it, but so far very good.

I subscribe to this. Its "interesting" Tom Rubython has a nasty reputation in the F1 world, and it shows. He is very biting, and sloshes a lot of gossip. when he rights its very negative OR super positive. very little in between. its clearly got an bent to his "stories". all that being said, He usually has some form of a thread, that most others ( Jow Saward excepted ) dont have. He may not always be 100% correct, but he's got a story .... it is interesting reading. more tabloidish... then there are some articles that are well done by others. Like many Brit magazines - there are proofing errors all over, misspellings etc... so its a bit of an adventure.

I just finished this book by Joshua Robinson & Jonathan Clegg. It is an interesting read, I think targeting casual or recent F1 fans, and not a business case study. The business discussion is at a high level, i.e., one won't find a discussion of the line items in a team P&L or balance sheet, but there is a discussion of how Eccelstone built his success, how the FIA, tracks, TV and sponsorships played/play a role, the history & politics of constructors, etc. The authors had access to a number of key players, including Bernie, Domenicali, LdM, Wolff, Hamilton, Horner, Newey, Brown as well as a number of drivers, so the politics discussion was insightful and some flavor of the egos came through. The impact of the Netflix show and Liberty Media is also discussed. I'm glad I read it.
