Have a look thru the rear window. On top of one cross-tube of the frame is the VIN. It has to start "AM117.US.????" or "AM117.49.US.????".

PLease check and let us know.

    Thanks.

    Ciao!

Its just too obvious isn't it!?
The owner wants it stolen! Must have it insured for a high agreed value.

Also it isn't currently registered in CA. Aug 2005 so it is expired. Seems like it would normally get towed / impounded under those circumstances. Although aren't parking lots private property, maybe it belongs to someone who owns/works in one of the stores nearby? Could be why it has been sitting there for months, although that doesn't explain why its unlocked.

Walter, what is the significance of this? Oh does that mean 4.9L?

For my database and yes, it shows either the standart (4.7) or 4.9-Liter-capacy!

that is a late model bora as mine was. rubber bumper and lack of center hub cap are immediate evidence. they are tremendous cars!! it is a 4.9 only. all boras were 4.9L.

i still wish i had mine. the sound of that v-8 is awesome!

I'll try to go get the VIN, I actually stopped by the car again tonight because my other son wanted to see it. Yes, I just walked up and opened the door! Somebody has already put a sticky not inside the windshield, asking if it's for sale. The Bentley and the Rolls next to it both have CA plates as well. It's strange, they just appeared there, and there they sit. There are a couple of car repair places close by, but they both have fenced, secured lots so I can't imagine these cars are associated with them.

I think he may have meant U.S. deliveries. I don't think any 4.7L ones were officially delivered here. Yes there are european ones here though.

As I said originally, you have a Private Message (PM). Look in the upper right corner of your FChat window.

the last us delivered 4.7 went out w/ the ghibli (pre-SS) to the best of my knowledge.

the ghibli and bora must represent the very best value in an exotic car period!! they are tremendous machines and the 4.9 is a sleeping giant

Where in Dallas is this? Let me know and I'll stop by with my tow truck :p.

Maybe get the tag # and try to get the owners info through the DMV? Not sure how these things work, strange to see 3 nice cars like that just sitting there.

I recall seeing the Bora being featured in the program of the 1974 NY auto show. WHAT an exotic it seemed to me. I even remember part of the article saying something along the lines of "If you're a person who can appreciate and handle this machine, buy it. Not for Casper Milquetoasts!"

  21. They are neat cars. I have a couple brochures on them. I think they were around 25k new. Strange why it is there? Did you ask the Sams workers about them?

Sounds like a stolen vehicle cooling off?

Just a possibility...so maybe call the police and ask them if they been reported stolen?
