    Hello,

Two years ago i was searching for the 4 Bushings wich are holding the frame for the drivetrain and rear axle from the Bora, but i was told they were not available.

Are They available anywhere or is someone thinking about rebuilding Them?

If not: i'm thinking about building an Unflexible "Bushing" made of steel.
has someone tried this? How hard are the vibrations to the car?

Furthermore i am searching for a pair of Pre-mufflers or a pipe to connect the manifold with the rear silencer, especially made of stainless steel.
does someone know were i can get them or do i need to build it myself?

    Thank you,
    regards, Hendrik

Years ago I made the exhaust pieces myself. MIE or some of the exhaust companies may have them but whenever doing exhaust systems on these sort of cars you usually have to perform some hand fitting and these two pipes are a great place to make up for slight mis-alignments.

Watch your clearance on the CV boots. Best to try the suspension travel through a full swing once they're positioned and don't forget that the motor moves up and down quite a bit on those engine mounts so that can drop the engine hence the pipes. I think it's a lousy routing.

After several boot failures from explosion due to the heat (they blow up like a balloon) I decided to vent the two inner boots intentionally. That fixed the issue.

Insulating the pipes will help but it also reduces the clearance. I never tied it but I always contemplated putting a shield around the CV joint that rotated with the joint. Something like a Tuna fish can that came out over the boot.

Ok, thank you, i didnt really think about the heat-problem till now.
The original pipes are coatet with some type of insulation and steel.
I will try to built something similar.

    To the Bushings:
I'm planning to build "original looking" but unflexible, made from solid metal, brackets.
Is someone interested in an set?
Would be cheaper the more i build.
If someone is interested, please PM me.
When i know how many parts i need approximatly, i can give you a price for it.
(you are not forced to buy a set when you PM me, i just want to know if i have to build 4 or maybe 20 brackets)

    regards, Hendrik
