Hey gang, in SLC this week (returning Thu), on business at LDS Hospital. Dropped by Steve Harris Imports on Monday, and had a look see...small, but nice place. Didn't know they sold Lotus as well.

Missed Sean, but left my card with Bruce. Will try and get back there on Wed.

    I saw two white Ferraris...328GTS, 355GTS. Nice red 550, VERY nice red/tan 348 spider...a couple 456's...and one very stunning silver 360 spider like Frankie's!

Others? Used Lotus Elan (not a prime example). Pretty Z8 (silver) and a beautiful 04' Lotus Esprit (black).

Maybe you should add the 04 Espirit to your collection and keep the 328. I love the Espirits. The maintenance is probably more down to earth.

Wow, LSD Hospital, how can you be bored there? :)

As much as I love Lotus cars, with the simple lack of manufacture/dealership support makes me an admire from a far.

I have always had a penchant for the Esprit, and they are very reasonably priced....but I don't think I could ever live it down, hearing the ribbing from you guys.

Plus, I would be constantly annoyed by the "is that a Ferrari?" questions... ;)

Dave, if you still have the medical condition that your "name" implies then SLC should be the place for you. According to a TV report I saw recently(20/20 I think), the single (and young) Mormon gals in Utah are among the...how should I say it..."most active", of anywhere.

Seems like a fine looking young man like yourself would be able to have fine time in the great state of Utah!

Had dinner with a buddy last night; he has lived here for the past 15 years, and has told me the same since he got here!!! He said that between college years and getting married, the mormon gals are pretty wild....

Alas, I am "behaving" myself and staying in. Too much work...I have to be at the hospital at 6:30am, and don't leave until 6pm each evening....then I have to prepare proposals, return emails, etc...

During these equipment evaluations, I have to be constantly at the hospital and "on call" if there is a specific case where they want to use my surgical table, and need my assistance...anything for the sale! ;)

There ARE a lot of hoties around this town though...

Yes, I realize that Park Place is a Lotus dealer, I believe that at one point, they were also the local Lamborgihini dealer and among other things. I don't know about the rest of you, but for some reason, I just don't feel comfortable with Park Place, LTD.

As for Lotus, there are only 39 dealerships around the country, California has 5 or so. Which means that there are plenty of pockets around the country where service/parts for car can be extremly hard to come by. We all know first hand that this can easily be an issue, even with a company the size of Ferrari USA. My point is that even know that the car is using a Lotus-tuned Toyota engine and drive-train, parts and service can still be a problem if something does go wrong. I have and always will be a Lotus fan, from their road cars to their F1 heritage in the past. But the fact remains, the support network is simply sub-par when compared to other companies. As great as a car can be, if it can not be driven on the road, it is not much better than a 1:18 model car or a poster on the wall.
