Anybody here have experience putting the ECU's in boot mode. I just picked up the AlienTech KessV2 interface, but the instructions are very vague.

If you want to read the complete EEPROM content, for a reflash, the answer is yes.

you ~should be able to flash through OBD2 with the correct interface as the ECU's support it, but I have only ever seen it done via a bench flash.

Thanks for the help guys, I just got around to replying. Reading and Re-Flashing is best done on the bench, no doubt. I've actually gotten really good at it now. Flashing can be done on the car, but there is a Jumper process required. Not to difficult, but a bit of a pain.
Advice is: If you have the tuned file handy, it is best to write it while the ECU is on the Bench.

Super simple to flash through the OBD 2 port with the right tool. I made a jump wire in 10 seconds and just removed a relay behind the passenger seat. You have to flash BOTH ecu's so it does take maybe 5-10 minutes but that is it. They never need to come out.

I will admit the tool for doing this is probably not very cheap but my tuner had one.
