Bose sound system

If you don't check the box marked HiFi You get a big empty hole where the stereo goes and no prewiring for speakers. Not sure what happens if you order the ipod connection without the Hi-Fi. I suggest you have a serious talk with your dealer. I ordered both with mine and the sound is defintely worlds better than the unit that came with my Scud. I know of a customer who ordered his GTO without stereo and ipod. It was a real mess. After delivery he spent close to 8K to get an after market sound system hardwired from scratch with no predrilled holes, wiring, or even speaker covers included with his GTO.

 

If it were me, I would order it just because the extra weight is neglible on such a large car and if when the resale comes the odds are the buyer would like to have it. Though of course the primary sound system is the glorious V12- sometimes its useful to hear the weather report or maybe youd like some tunes. When you don't want it, turn it off. Thats just me though, Id probably tick just about every box

 

Is that the same system as the Bose on the 612 OTO?

 

Can't speak for the 612. It sounds almost identical to my old 07 599 GTB optioned Bose System....... With noticably richer sound.

 

Which is the same as in the later non-OTO 612s.......

 

Its the old becker head unit, same is in existing 599s (or at least the same as was in my 07) w/ Bose speakers. Sound is pretty good and the blue tooth works which it didn't on my previous 599 and doesn't in my 612. Ipod connector also works with my iphone which also doesn't work in my 612.

 

You can make all that stuff work in the 612. I had the microphone replaced under warranty, and now bluetooth works great-- in fact, better than most of my other cars.

Similarly, there is an update for the ipod connector which will allow it to work properly with the iPhone 4.
