Hi, I'm looking to drive out from Boston towards Cape Cod -- can any of the locals recommend a more scenic route other than the usual highway? Are there any other routes around Boston for scenic drives/etc.? If they are not too crowded that would help as well ;-)

    THANKS!

Don't waste your time until you cross the canal. Once on the cape take route 6A through barnstable yarmouth south dennis and brewster if you are going that way.

If you are heading towards falmouth area then take 6A while you're down here. Was on it this morning. One of the nicest roads in the country.

I could suggest a route that would add about an hour and a half to your trip but would be a great drive.
Anyone else reading this who knows the area, please chime in.
I would suggest getting off of route 3 (goes from Boston to Cape cod) at the route 228 Hingham exit. Follow that road to Jeruselum Road in Cohasset. Jeruselum Road is an incredible, twisty 2 lane with incredible ocean views, rocky coastline, beaches and beautiful homes to boot. From there you could go through a fishing village named Scituate, then thru Marshfield and finally down Washington street in Duxbury before getting back on the superslab (rt3).
