.....Ever had a few minutes of free time and stumbled across an ad for something that pushed all the right buttons in your mind?

You know the feeling..... you found something you were NOT looking for, but it would be EXACTLY what you would want, if you were looking! (LOL)

I had a few free minutes and checked out 70-72 Camaro /Trans Am prices on Ebay, just to see how they were doing with the market.

next thing i know, the car is mine.

Its paid for, insured and should be here in a week or so, will add more pics then.

My 78 4 speed Trans Am needed company i guess!

.....i will get another QV, when my 85 911 Carrera sells.

Its not easy , being green !!!!

All you need now is the factory (RS version) black plastic front spoiler for that Camaro and the two metal strut braces that support the spoiler. The holes should already be in the body at the front. Any idea what gears are in the rear end? 4.88's would make for interesting gas mileage...

LOl, i order the spoiler and correct chrome drivers side mirror the same day i paid for the car!

gars are 373, they were 411,but were too much for the highway with the Muncie 4 speed. going to put on some modern 17 inch wheels, and do the rest as "correct" as is reasonable.

Congrats! A good friend of mine had the same car in high school I think. It was a 1970 split bumper with an LT1 on nitrous. Does yours have the LT1 in it?

Nice one about the front spoiler!
Even the cowl induction style hood sort of looks legit. Chevy Engineering gave Bill Jenkins a 1970 version Camaro hood like that but then changed their mind. They went with a low rise intake manifold to get the necessary hood clearance with the 396 big block motor in the 1970 Camaro. Taller (17") wheels would have the effect of lowering the effective gearing a bit more. That will also put the speedometer reading off. Sounds like you have been watching the tach more any way...

Very nice. It has all the good performance equipment. From the look of those flat top pistons it must be waiting for a large nitrous system.

You will have fun with that car.

    Here's mine.

    cool !

the shop that built this Camaro had kept the car "in the family" since the early 80's. they are called "The Engine Shop" and are located in PA. They are a great group of gearheads to talk to on the phone. :) i am getting the original power steering set up that came off of this car years ago. they put manual steering on it for drag racing..... i want it as a street car, and i am a little guy, so i need the power steering !

ps: front spoiler just arrived.... and i ordered the wheels and new intake today too !

The wheels look like 200S American Racing wheels. What tires are you going with?

17's might make the 4.11's more palatable on the highway.

The size of the wheel makes no difference if the overall tire diameter remains the same - which it should.

    Nice Camaro!
