Bought a scuderia -- have been a Porsche guy for 10 years but have been in love with this car since they initially came out...still hanging on to 2 Porsches that are hard to get psychologically get rid of. Now time to get advice from the experts. What should I do from where I am now?

The dealer mentioned a 1-year power warranty - do you guys recommend? Figured there is a wealth of knowledge here so would really appreciate any advice you may have. Look forward to seeing you out on the road if you live up in the bay area.

    All the best...sanjay

I didn't bother. It was over $5K for 1 year of power cube. I'll probably put 2000 km on it over 1 year, if that. I'm playing the odds that I won't end up spending >$5K in repairs over the next year.

    Congrats on the purchase!

First thing you should do is post a bunch of pics inside and out! Alot of people on here are big fans of the warranty, did you have a PPI done? One small claim could get you your $5k back real quick. IDK if scuds are susceptible to the 430 header problem but if so you should be aware of the damage they can cause and the signs you should be looking for. Congrats on your purchase, amazing cars!

Congratulation. I also got a Daytona Nero scud about a year ago as my first Ferrari. I have been a Porsche guy prior with the gt3 RS 4.0 as my last Porsche. The scud is an incredible machine in terms of excitement. I have no problems to report and have been very impressed with it mechanically.

I bought mine nine months ago from a Ferrari dealer and he recommended against buying the Power normal warranty. Car has be perfect zero problems and a treat to drive.

I bought the warranty but have had zero problems. The peace of mind is nice, though. It's kind of like a PPI-plus.

OK -- I take it you want to see pictures :) Thanks for the advice -- really appreciate it! I only have 2 of them so far but will post more as I get more taken this weekend! I think these should come through. If any of you are in SF, look forward to hopefully meeting. Need a Scuderia mentor!

Drove it a couple blocks today in between work meetings...yikes! This car is frighteningly fast compared to my 911 turbos!

I had a PPI done in LA -- Tom Kim. Highly recommend if you live in that area. Was really clean so gave me some comfort. Really excited to get the car out this weekend. The sound of that engine is ridiculous I must say. I thought it was hard to get much better than my 79 turbo and my 97 turbo but I was wrong...

    Congrats, Lovely car.

Cute that the scud is in a "compact" spot; and the bike rack wall is quite cool.

Quick update -- car is amazing. Took it for a couple drives this weekend up in the bay area and I must admit it is hard to beat this car. Drove my 993 turbo yesterday and although I thought that is one of the greatest cars ever made, I think the Scuderia may have changed my mind! Had a couple of quick questions for you guys: 1) Is there a good mechanic in San Francisco / what do you recommend? 2) I noticed the bolts that hold down the plexiglass engine cover are not completely screwed in (assume due to vibration) - was going to tighten them with an allen wrench but wanted to confirm this is the case. Thanks in advance.

Congrats on your nasty black scud.
The bolts are supposed to look like that on the plexiglass. When you feel them they should be tight.
