My BB was missing the original tool kit and one came up for sale recently on Ebay, I ended up the winning bidder at £520 sterling. The kit is complete and in good condition with just one chrome strip missing on one side of the case. I thought it was a little expensive but have been told I done quite well! What do you guys think?

Is that about $1000? What year BB is it correct for? Sound like a good price.

Yep at current exchange rates it works out a about a thousand US$. It is a briefcase type toolkit, which is the correct one for a BB from 1978 to 1980

    Steve,

I think you bought very well - If you can find them in good condition they are double and sometimes treble that amount...

Sounds like a good deal Steve!
Any chance you could post a picture of the interior, so I can see what is correct for a BB?
My car came to me with the tool roll, which evidently isn't correct, so I'll need to keep an eye open for a box.

My plug wrench comes in the jack kit because of the length of it, I suspect all boxers are that way.

Steve that'a a nice looking toolbox, much better than my Testa placcy one and I like the idea they included a oil filter wrench, maybe in those days DIY work was more acceptable. :D:D:D

    steveirl,
if that tool kit is correct for your boxer, the tool kit is missing the plug wrench. doesn't matter where your long plug wrench is, the kit is missing the plug wrench. in your picture, the blue bulb box is in the location of the plug wrenchs head and that long silver cylinder(whatever it is) does not belong in the kit. that is where the spark plug wrench for that kit goes.

Correct, look in the boxer buyers thread (page 5), there's a great pic posted by Murph with that plug socket in the briefcase . Mine is longer and goes in the jack kit so Im betting the BBi socket is longer to get past the intake runners - just a thought.

Hi Steve - YOU DID GET RIPPED OFF. But to lift that "violated" feeling, me and half this board would probably be willing to relieve you of that tool kit for the same dough.

Great going. Feel good about it.

My spanner is so long I have to cross the street to pull it out of the jack bag (injected car) so I think Newman is right... for a change. (Smiley face would go here if I knew how to do that, but I have a reputation to protect.)

    Happy Friday all.
