That wrap around feature is also a HP killer for number 6 and 7 cylinders. A reworked primary pipe would work wonders. The BBLM manifolds addressed that.

Always enjoy learning more about a Boxer, especially specifics and history concerning mine. It looks like Foitek Garage is the official Ferrari dealer in Zürich. Its funny that you say that as I had almost my entire arms inside the duct this past weekend at a FCA event as I was trying to explain this unique feature of the car.

    How did that go? Deductions?

I spoke to Frank Foitek myself when I bought the car. He explained the history to me.

It wasn’t a judging event, it was a group of FCA members getting together for a monthly meet.

I didn’t realise that is where you purchased the Boxer. Did they also alter the seats with the larger bolsters?

I didn't purchase it from him directly. It was brought over by a place in Montreal and then ended up at Autoforum in Toronto which is where I got it. I wanted to buy a boxer that needed some TLC but then Tom showed me the one they had and I did a deal right away.

Prototype BB512 has 365 leftovers on the chassis. Where Im pointing you can see an unused tube. This is where the 365 throttle cable would pass through which took it to a bracket mounted pulley. The pulley then directed the bare cable up to another bracket where the cable sleeve would mount. The 512 bypasses this, a much simpler (and cheaper) solution. Ferrari added a tube above for the cable housing to follow and bring it up closer to the top of the engine.

To the left of that unused tube is where another bracket used to be that they cut off at the factory and didn't spend much time cleaning up. It's for the clutch cable housing to mount to. It was a U shaped bracket that the cable passed through. The long tube to the left of the throttle cable is unused and had the clutch cable pass through it.

    Interesting stuff.
