It looks really clean and in excellent condition. As the ad says I hope it 'woks' as 'decribed'??? BT
Small world! Mike, that must be the one you checked out for me. That car seems to bounce around a lot... I thought the one at LFSC had 23K miles, while this one's showing 21K. Maybe I'm just down a few brain cells from the last time I checked. Jon
Lets just say I've been to this "Dealer", and I will not go back. Also, as many have found on E-bay, the descriptions can be a bit tainted by who wrote it, especially if they have a financial interest in the sale of the car.
I love the way they say "Hey come out & see it. If it's not what we say then don't buy it". Well thanks guys! That's a deal I can't go past. Not.
This has to be it... How many were made in this combo? Happen to be in Chicago area? Are an 84? With all documentation? Do you remember what LFSC's asking price was? I thought it was 35K... but I could be wrong.
I think you're right about the price, $35K-$36K approx. Definitely under $40K and they'd had it there a while (it's even in the photo used to build their website.) I wasn't taken with the color scheme, but the low mileage and decent price were tempting. At $46K I wouldn't be too tempted. Jon
Its back! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=4553772128&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW just my personal crusade to deflect buyers from these jerks!
I e-mailed them asking why the car was 10k more this year from last year and what has been done to confirm that price. Their response "SORRY, UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT CONTROL THE MARKET."
So, whats the scoop with these guys? I was going to go out and see a 993 turbo they had for sale last year...seemed nice on the phone. Come on, whats the scoop?
OK, OK... I called 2-3 years ago about a 308 they had, when I was in "must have it" mode. Cash in bank, looking for "my" car. I chat the guy up a bit, wanna know if they have service records, what has been done lately, is it stock, etc. They are over an hour drive (no direct way there from where I live), so I did not want to waste my time going to see something that did not meet my criteria. Seemed just fine on the phone. I get there, and immediately get the cold shoulder, in combination with the hard sell / swarm of sales guys. Owner, owners son. The ol' "you gonna buy it today, because if not...." I looked her over, looked at the records, which were mostly complete, with over 8K of service in last 18 months, with the glaring exception of the timing belt, which had not been done in NINE years. Then comes the "we sell tons of Lamborghini's, Ferraris, Vipers, Lotus.... Ferrari's DO NOT have to have the timing belts changed. That is crap!" OK.... Pretty nice car, "interesting" fog lights.... lets go for a ride, right??? OH, H#LL NO! They would NOT take the car out of the show room. "Its such a great car, no need to test drive it... blah blah blah.... Besides, if you are not going to write a check today....." (I do not respond well to sales people B#LL**** like that well). So there we were, at a stand still. I wasted over 2 hours round trip, about 45 minutes before the "no test drive" stand off. So, in the middle of this new development, I turned around, and walked out. BUNCH OF A$$HOLES! Do not bother with them. Or, buy a "the nicest" Ferrari from them with the oldest timing belt around, but feel confident that it is really, really not a problem! After all, they know everything about exotics!
Wow, what idiots. Saying that they won't let a serious buyer take a test drive is the kiss of death. I have a friend who was interested in an S2000 and the dealer wouldn't let him test drive it. The guy is 37 years old, clean cut, can buy it in cash. They refuse to let him test drive it. Their line was "You can test drive it on the way home with it." He walked out. They still have the car....9 months later. Birdman
Gorgeous car...but can you spell: o-v-e-r-p-r-i-c-e-d? for that kind of $$$...you're in 328 territiry.
I dont mind paying a little more for a mint 308...(it would have to be mint though.. not.. a 308 with an AC that doesnt work..lol.) would feel more comfortable with a mint 308 than a rusted burnt out 328. That being said.. not that i wouldnt pay 40 for a 308.. but..i wouldnt pay 40 for that one.. in fact ive only seen 1 white 308 that i would pay 40 for... The bad dealer rep doesnt help.. quite honestly. I would and DO expect better salesman and sales efforts at exotic dealerships.. "used car salesman attitudes" last about 5 minutes with me.
Back again! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=4557893855&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Not listing high "Buy it now", but still the same STOOPID ad.... "IF YOU COME OUT AND THE CAR IS NOT THE WAY I DECRIBED, DON'T BUY IT!!!"
