After installing my MSD, I noticed when the headlights were on, and I hit the brake, the right alternator light would glow. Not full on, but definitely noticeable. My tech friend who set the CO the other night said it was likely a ground issue, so I found the MSD ground (same as fuel pump ground), completely cleaned the area and reattached.

WAY BETTER, light was almost completely out (again, this is with some load from the headlights on, then applying brake). However, not completely gone.

My tech suggested (over the phone) moving the MSD ground to a new spot, away from anything. I did.

It was about the same. I then turned everything on - fans, lights, AC, - and when I tap the brake light, the right alternator light is far more visible, glows fairly healthily. The left one is almost imperceptably aglow. Far less than the right one.

Any thoughts from the Boxer experts?

Sound like your alternator is not charging to full capacity, do a voltage check across your battery posts with no electrical load and then full electrical load with your lights, air con, etc....on and let us know the voltage :)
