I have yet to figure out my boxer's production date but what would that tell me anyway? If the production date was 02/82 for example does that mean it was started on that date or completed on that date or neither? How long would it take to build one from the start to end? Im assuming they didnt come off the line every 2 minutes like a honda and take only 3 days to build.

I think that's only the month and year, though.

I assume that's when it was finished, as how do you determine when they started? When the chassis was welded? When the metal arrived to build the engine? The parts might have been sitting in the parts room for a couple of months before they started, so the end date is most likely the only relevant date.

If you go on the Ferrari Owners site, make a request (via your VIN number) for a "conferma originalita colori"...I think they refer to it as a heritige certificate.

I just got mine, and it confirmed the exact date that it came out of the factory, as well as the original interior/exterior colors.

I tried that last year and they responded by saying not all cars have a certificate available (I have one for my 308 though). So, they have no info on my car, this has happened to other boxer owners as well. I may try again but im not holding my breath. I guess in the end it doesnt really matter, I have the car and my life is complete as a result :).

My Boxer has an Amerispec sticker on the driver's door jam that lists the production month/year.

I believe either a sticker or a plate with this info was a requirement under USA Federalization rules.

There's also a Amerispec sticker (recommeneded tire pressure, etc..) inside of the glovebox on the access panel to the fuse box.

Thats what I thought, my 308 has one of course being a US spec car. I figured if Franks had one then it was connected to the DOT conversion somehow, thanks for posting Gary.
